() Middle finger
        Middle practice or “gou” – This technique is to use your middle finger to pluck a string forward and inward towards your palm. Similar to "Tuo" , There are two possible approaches to use "Gou":

() 提彈 the finger leaves the string after plucking - Relax your palm to make sure it is flat. Let your fingers lower naturally. Slightly open your middle finger. Make sure that the pick(i.e.nail) is placed between the two strings and does not place too deep.
Pluck the string quickly towards to your palm. Then relax your hand after plucking, your hand  should resume to its original shape after plucking.

() 夾彈 the finger touches the next string after plucking – You

can place your little finger or ring finger on a string as a support;

the distance should be one or two strings higher. When preparing to

pluck, place your pick on the string, pluck forward and downward

(45 degree angle) to land on the next string. Relax your

 palm and all the fingers to the original position.

For example, if you intend to pluck 3 (mi), your middle finger should touch 5(so) after plucking.

Note : When you are plucking, your hand should not jump up and down. When your hand
jumps up and down, it takes you more time to get to the next string, as well it does not look
elegant.

Guzheng fun Facts

夾彈 : The finger(s) lands on the next string after plucking.
It is popular in regions north of Huang he River(Yellow River). It is mostly used when plucking low pitch strings. When using this method, make sure your middle finger doesn't stretch too flat. The middle finger should be close to pointing down perpendicular to the soundboard. Also, remember to pay attention to your ring finger and little finger. When plucking 5(so), the tip of your ring finger and little finger should rest on 6(la).
