Index and Ring fingers practices

Index and Ring fingers
They are require the same skills. Pluck with your index finger or ring finger towards yourself. The shape of your hand and the strength should be the same.
It is quite normal if you feel that you cannot control your ring finger well when you are a beginner. The adjacent finger(s) might even move at the same time when you try to pluck using your ring finger. When practicing, try to keep your fingers separate. Practice more. When plucking ring finger , all other fingers should relax and point downward. Don't let your fingers become too tense and over bend.

Note : All your fingers should bend slightly. When your index finger is ready to pluck a string, it should not be pointing downward perpendicular to your fingers naturally bended down.

Note : when plucking with your ring finger, other fingers might prevent you from getting a good view of all the strings. Practice more so that you are used to not having to see the strings. You need to be able to feel the location of the strings.

Guzheng Fun Facts

When plucking with your ring finger, you may feel a lack of strength. This can result in very weak or soft sound. Therefore, please make sure that you pluck with sufficient strength in order to produce clear and loud sounds.
